Girlfriends Give Back Work Session

Unbelievable. I just have to say - the power of women is unbelievable. This night was a HUGE success - Clayton Valley Girlfriends Unlimited Girlfriends should be very proud. We will have helped 152 people this winter season. You all came through the doors bearing shoe boxes, wrapping paper, ribbons, snacks, fleece, sewing machines, willing hands, lots of love and were ready to get to work.

In 3 hours, 18 women, we managed to power through 22 soup kits, 15 lap blankets, and 115 scarves. These items have been given to the Guttenberg Care Center, St. Mary's School, United Methodist, St. Johns, St. Pauls, Living Waters, Trinity Lutheran, the Ronald McDonald House, and various agencies/individuals through the Family Resource Center.

We all pulled together and worked hard. Way to Go!
I have already had a few folks that were on the receiving end come up and thank GU for their soup kit, etc. So very nice. It couldn't have been done without you all! From the bottom of my heart - thanks again!

Girlfriends Giggle & Gab Soup & Sammy Night

Here a few overdue pictures of the Girlfriends Soup & Sandwich Giggle & Gab night held at the Cafe Mississippi back in October. We had approximately 25-30 women in attendance. The challenge this evening was to be creative with the household items in your brown bags and figure out how to wear them throughout the evening. :)

My message this evening was it doesn't take a lot to do something little for someone to give back or pay it forward. My example was earlier in the day, it was VERY cold out and there were a few men working on road construction upon entering the town. I stopped at Casey's and picked up 2 cups of hot coffee and delivered it to them. You should have seen there faces! Lit up like a Christmas tree! Something so simple and cost me $1.90 (change from my car console!) Do something little, it usually means a lot!

Everyone was given a handful of smile stones to hand to people who are needing a smile! Are you using yours? Do you need more? Let me know!!!!

Everyone attending tonight was left with a special mission. You were all challenged to pay it forward and do something nice for someone? It's been 2 months now? Have you completed your challenge? If so, keep going, why stop now? Tis' the season! If not - get up off that seat and do something!!!!
